PES Structural Engineers, Inc. (PES) is excited to announce the promotion of Alex, Matt, Mikayla, and Ryan to the position of Associate at PES. This well-deserved recognition highlights their hard work, dedication, and exceptional contributions to our firm, projects, and clients.
Alex joined PES in 2014 and has managed a myriad of project types while also being involved in our Culture and Engagement Committee, ensuring PES continues to foster and improve our culture and employee engagement. Alex is also dedicated to the training and mentoring of engineers, inspiring our “Night School” sessions that have become a company favorite as part of our robust internal continuing education program. Alex earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Clemson University. Originally from South Carolina, Alex now lives in Atlanta’s Brookwood area with his husband, Otto, and their two dogs, Oscar and Ivy.
Matt has been with PES for 17 years and is our Digital Design Manager. He graduated from Georgia Tech and started with PES as a Project Engineer, progressing to a Project Manager before pursuing a path in managing our technology efforts. Matt’s background in design allows PES to navigate the ever-changing world of technology, benefiting both our firm and our clients. Originally from Atlanta, Matt now lives in Brevard, North Carolina, with his wife, Katie, and their two children. An avid mountain biker, he takes full advantage of the area’s renowned trails.
Mikayla joined PES in 2016 and holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Clemson University. Mikayla’s attention to detail has been instrumental in delivering high-quality results on some of our most challenging projects. She is involved in improving our internal processes, as well as being a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers committee on Flood Resistant Design and an Associate Member of the ASCE 7-28 Flood Load subcommittee. Originally from Fort Collins, Colorado, Mikayla now lives in East Atlanta with her husband, David, and their two dogs, Rock and Mac.
Ryan joined PES in 2018 and has showcased a remarkable ability to tackle a wide range of projects with innovation and efficiency. His innovative thinking and proactive approach have been instrumental in delivering successful project outcomes. Ryan also oversees our sustainability efforts, leading PES to become a signatory firm of SE2050, a national coalition of structural engineers dedicated to achieving net-zero embodied carbon by 2050. A native of Atlanta, Ryan now lives in West Midtown with his wife, Tayler.
Their promotion not only ensures leadership continuity but also exemplifies their dedication to our Core Values. We look forward to their continued success as Associates and their ongoing contributions as valued and collaborative team members.
