Biography

Cornelius joined PES with a deep passion for building design and structural engineering. Raised in Orangeburg, SC, Cornelius was born on Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base in California and pursued his B.S. in Civil Engineering Technology from South Carolina State University before earning an M.S. in Civil Engineering from Clemson University. His fascination with structures began during middle school when field trips to major cities like Philadelphia and New York City left him in awe of their iconic buildings. These experiences solidified his desire to create lasting structures that shape cityscapes.

He was drawn to PES not only for its reputation but also for how the firm encourages its engineers to actively engage with the engineering community beyond the workplace. The company’s collaborative spirit and dedication to diverse material usage in projects resonated with him, making it a perfect fit for his career aspirations. Cornelius looks forward to working on challenging projects and collaborating with like-minded engineers who share his passion for creating innovative designs.

Outside of work, Cornelius enjoys playing the piano, staying active with athletic pursuits, and embracing new experiences. His enthusiasm for engineering and creativity brings fresh energy to the PES team.
