PES provided the structural design of the AC Buckhead Phipps hotel, located near Phipps Plaza in the heart of Buckhead.

The structural system of the hotel consisted of concrete framing with a post-tensioned concrete roof slab, reinforce slab-on-grade, post-tensioned elevated floors, and light gauge metal stud framed walls supported on shallow foundations.

The property, which was the first AC in Atlanta as well as the first in the United States, features 166 guest rooms and a two-level parking deck. Other amenities include the AC Lounge, 2,500 square feet of flexible meeting space, the AC Library, health and fitness areas, and an indoor pool. The AC Hotel by Marriott | Phipps Plaza has achieved LEED Silver Certification.
