PES provided structural design services for the repositioning and expansion of Covenant Living’s senior living retirement community located near Hartford, CT. The expansion included the new Town Center and 54 new apartments, totaling 76,664 square feet.

The facility’s structural system consisted of two stories of Type V wood framing on a composite steel podium floor above the commons space supported on shallow foundations at ground level with no basement.

The Town Center includes multiple dining venues, a state-of-the-art fitness center with floor-to-ceiling windows, a new art center, and various lounge areas, which allows the residents to gather and socialize.
