PES recently provided the structural design for the NPS Marjory Stoneman Douglas Visitor Center located in Everglades City consisting of a 4,800 square foot visitor contact station built to withstand 175 mph winds and a 15-foot storm surge.
The design included a 4,100 square foot elevated, conditioned contact station with interpretive exhibits, a concession ticketing desk, concession retail space, public and staff restrooms, law enforcement and administrative offices, 700 square feet of unconditioned ground-level public restrooms, an elevated covered veranda for shaded viewing of the Chokoloskee Bay, and more.
