PES is currently providing the structural design for the expansion of Second Line Stages, the first independent green film studio in the United States.

The project consists of 78,000 square feet of new studios and stages; 27,000 square feet of office space; and the renovation of an existing 90,000 square foot building that will consist of flex space and stages.

The structural system of the facility consists of steel trusses with steel beams for the roof as well as the grid system, reinforced slab-on-grade, and load-bearing precast concrete wall panels supported on a deep pile foundation system.

The TV and film studio’s existing three stages have served as a backdrop for numerous productions, including American Horror Story: Coven, Treme, Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained, and Lee Daniels’ The Butler.
