Seckinger High School

Honors and Recognition

Learning By Design, Outstanding Project for 2022 in the Early Childhood/Elementary School Renovation/Adaptive Reuse/Restoration/Entire School/Campus Building category

PES provided the structural design for a new, 510,485 square foot, four-story high school for Gwinnett County Schools. The structural system of the state-of-the-art facility consisted of steel framing, elevated composite steel slabs, and a steel joist roof with infilled CMU walls. The ground floor consisted of slab-on-grade supported by shallow foundations. We also provided the foundation design for the new football stadium as well as the 15,000 square foot fieldhouse and dugouts at the baseball and softball fields. Sitting on over 85 acres, Seckinger High School has an artificial intelligence AI) theme, with artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science curriculums to prepare students for careers in technology-related sectors. The school offers four different career-based sets of classes: advanced sciences and technology, international and civic leadership, art and design, or a personalized hybrid track.
