We are pleased to announce that David Aucoin, PE, has been promoted to Senior Associate and added as a new owner of the firm while Erik Swerdlow, PE and Chad Forster, PE have been promoted to Associate.
An 11 year veteran of PES, David is the leader of our New England office. From our West Hartford location he handles a wide variety of projects from wide variety of projects from healthcare to automotive to very complicated manufacturing projects requiring a high level of BIM coordination. David has always been interested in technology, efficiency and process improvements and was a founding member of our BIM integration team in 2006. Now, as PES’s BIM Director, he is responsible for the strategic planning and implementation of our industry leading BIM program. He has spoken nationally about BIM at Autodesk University, the Structures Congress and at the North American Steel Construction Conference and serves as a co-chair for both the BIM Council for the Construction Institute and the BIM Committee for the Structural Engineering Institute (SEI). David received his Bachelors of Science degree from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut in 1998 and his Masters of Science in Structural Engineering from Georgia Tech in 2005. He resides in West Hartford with his wife Marybeth and their two children, Anslea and Carter. Besides BIM, David is also passionate about soccer, the Red Sox and the New England Patriots.
Erik, a graduate of the University of Florida, has over 13 years of experience in the structural design of multi-family housing, mixed use developments, golf and country clubs, educational facilities, high-rise office buildings, and retirement communities involving various structural systems including timber, concrete, steel and masonry. Currently serving as a Studio Director, he coordinates and oversees the work of Project Managers and Engineers within his team for all projects. His responsibilities also include managing the design processes of various projects and working on a day-to day basis with clients. He was integral in the development of PES’s popular Architect Registration Examination (ARE) review program that’s offered semiannually to our clients preparing for the structural portion of the ARE exam and participates in the program as an instructor too. Erik and his wife Amanda live in suburban Atlanta with their sons Jonah and Ethan who keep them busy with Cub Scouts and the general wildness of two boys under 10.
Chad, a University of Florida graduate, has over 11 years of experience in the structural design of assisted and senior living facilities, healthcare projects, religious facilities, multi-family housing, office buildings, hospitality projects, and industrial facilities involving various structural systems including concrete, steel, masonry and wood. Currently serving as a Studio Director, he coordinates and oversees the work of Project Managers and Engineers within his team for all projects. Chad’s responsibilities also include managing the design processes of various projects and working on a day-to-day basis with clients. Chad also serves as the IT Director for PES. He lives in suburban Atlanta with his wife Lauren and their two children Grant and Ben. When he’s not busy at PES you can find him hiking, camping, enjoying Gator sports or chasing his two sons around.
